Visuals

{Nicky}

I posted a few pics on our Flickr page from our Thanksgiving-Feast-For-Two! We got to talk to all our family yesterday, and we're looking forward to seeing you in December!

Meantime, Scott's back at work (Duty today), and I'm going to spend the day getting ready to pack up our Fall decos, and get ready for the next big decoration holiday!

I did NOT go out to shop today, unlike some members of my family...I would have, but I would have had to go it alone, and that did not entice me at all. Misery power shopping loves company!

For those that didn't hear it from us yesterday, our adoption has been put on hold for legal reasons. We should know for sure by mid-December if it will progress as planned, or, sadly, not. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.

I can't believe we're moving into December already! Time flies...no matter what.

To Do

{Nicky}

I have a "to do" list...but I'm not doing any of it. Today, at least.

Scott's home now, through the holidays. He does have duty today, which makes today quiet for me. We bought our Thanksgiving groceries last night...I'm looking forward to that, but it will be a little lonely this year, without puppies sleeping at our feet! I made a solemn vow last year to not attempt shopping on Black Friday this year...but I think I've found a good deal on web cams, that may have me venturing out. That's Scott and my gift to each other this year, so that on his next deployment, when he's in ports, we can have visual phone calls of sorts.

Otherwise, we've had cool weather here, in the 30s (at night)! I told my dad today that I think my blood is getting thinner down here! Scott and I were talking last night about how we're just shy of 3 years living down here. Seems short, and long all at the same time. It has been, if nothing else, an eventful three years.

For the Dog Lovers

{Nicky}

For those that love our puppies like we do, I've posted a few new pics on our Flickr page (under the link "Photographing Giffords" on the right). There's a pic of Hanna in there, too.

Hope everyone is well!

Change Is Good

{Nicky}

This I need to remember. Change = Good. In this spirit, we've taken our house off the market, which creates some long-term planning changes for us. But it's all good!

Soon, my whole family...from pets to husband to daughter...will all be together under this roof. I don't know the details (Little things, like how, or WHEN) but I know it's coming.

I'm taking me to a movie today. I like to do that when Scott's gone, to help pass the time. Leslie, Mom and Grandma all went and saw "The Secret Life of Bees" yesterday, and said it's good, so I'm going to go see that, to catch up with them! (Plus, I don't think it's one of Scott's "Must Sees" of 2008. Quantum Solace, however, is. No matter it's reviews.)

For those keeping tabs, Mom meets again with the surgeon tomorrow, and we'll find a surgery date out.

BOR. ING.

{Nicky}

This has got be officially the single most boring blog site on the web right now. But my excuse is, is that while we have a lot going on, nothing is happening!

We're moving forward on the adoption, but we're caught up in a bunch of beauacracies between the states right now. Slow and steady wins the race, I know, but I'm anxious to bring our daughter home.

Mom is doing well, as well as can be. We're all optimistic and positive about moving forward. All the prayers and love have been so important, and appreciated.

Scott's out to sea, as usual. My sister actually said it best, when she recently informed me that I would never have to update our blog again, just repost old posts, as they all usually involve Scott being gone, and that's still the case! Ha!

Our house hasn't sold.

The pets are still w/ my folks, until December, at least.

I did get published, officially. But I've mentioned that previously, so...old news.

Other than that...hm...let me see...

Well, Scott did come home for about 15 hours this weekend, and we went to see the comedian John Reep. He was the winner of The Last Comic Standing last year, and it was the best show I've seen in a long time! We were laughing so hard, we were crying! Here's a clip showing some of his stuff...he did this at our club, and it was funny, but the funniest thing was when he imitated "cruising"...I can't even begin to explain it. Just go see him if you get the chance! He's so funny!
