correction

I had thought that I was a mere three days away from heading down to get our little girl. Bags were packed, plans were made to leave tomorrow night.

As it turns out, due to a slight paperwork error, I will be waiting a few more weeks. I'm disappointed. (I was going to put, I'm disappointed, but...but there is no 'but'. I'm just plain disappointed.)

I have faith that it will happen soon. I have a lot of love and support to lean on until 'soon' arrives.

...and counting...

As you can see from the little graphic on the right of this post, I am days away from meeting our new little girl!

It's so amazing, to finally be this close!

'gracie' by ben folds

You can't fool me, I saw you when you came out
You got your momma's taste but you got my mouth
And you will always have a part of me
Nobody else is ever going to see
Gracie girl

With your cards to your chest walking on your toes
What you got in the box only Gracie knows
And I would never try to make you be
Anything you didn't really want to be
Gracie girl

Life flies by in seconds
You're not a baby Gracie, you're my friend
You'll be a lady soon but until then
You gotta do what I say

You nodded off in my arms watching TV
I won't move you an inch even thought my arm's asleep

One day you're gonna want to go
I hope we taught you everything you need to know
Gracie girl

And there will always be a part of me
Nobody else is ever gonna see but you and me
My little girl
My Gracie girl

gracie's on her way...

Finally: the papers we had been waiting and waiting on are all signed and delivered to the great state of Oregon. Now, we're just waiting (again? still?) on that final approval to be allowed, as her legal guardians, to travel over state lines with her! As soon as I get the go-ahead, I will be down there as fast as the speed limit allows!

In the meantime, Scott and I keep planning and dreaming for Life With Toddler. I've been helping Grandma and Grandpa Crawley child-proof their house for our newest little addition. This has included, along with outlet safety covers and door knob covers, creating a little play area for their new granddaughter...who is, without having even stepped one tiny toe into the house yet, very doted on!

I'm also still killing time with crafts that catch my eye. Tonight, I made this little bracelet for Grace. I'm thinking of making a matching Mommy one, too!

I'll continue to keep you updated...it's been amazing to see the excitement and support that has accompanied this latest (biggest!) development. Thank you!
